The Podcast about Gum Disease, Oral Product Ingredients, and Snakes in Your Mouth!

by Sean Croxton

Gum disease is some serious sh*t.

If you’re reading this right now and you’re over 30 years of age, there is a 90% chance that you have bugs hanging out in your mouth that cause gum disease.

I’ll never kiss another girl in my life…

In his office, my holistic dentist has a microscope hooked up to a TV screen on which he shows his patients the oral bugs they’re carrying around. Fortunately, mine was pretty clean. But when he showed me a video of what a typical patient’s oral environment looks like, it was like a scene from that movie Snakes on a Plane! The screen was overrun with little snakelike creatures called spirochetes.

Straight. Up. Craziness.

Why do I feel the need to gross you out like this? Well, because I just got done listening to the replay of last night’s UW Radio show with my main man Will Revak of OraWellness.

The show was an Instant Classic.

As Will says, gum disease is the elephant in the living room when it comes to health – no one likes to talk about it. But that definitely needs to change. If not, one-third of us will end up with no natural teeth in our mouths by the age of 65 (that’s the current statistic).

But it’s even more serious than the mere vanity of having a full set of real choppers. Being a student of the work of Weston A. Price, I learned long ago how infections in the mouth can lead to other common diseases such as heart disease, cancer, arthritis, and more.

Do You Have a Fear of Success?

by Sean Croxton & Dr. Srini Pillay

Whoa!

A month ago, I wrote a blog about how I had been pondering what was going to be my next step in this endless journey of heath, wellness, and mindset.

In that blog I mentioned my desire to learn more about why we do (or not do) the things we do. Why do we long to reach out goals and objectives, only to sabotage ourselves time and time again?

In yet another case of serendipity (it happens quite a bit in my life), I was sent a book called Life Unlocked: 7 Revolutionary Lessons to Overcome Fear. Reading through Dr. Pillay’s book really blew my hair back. It was exactly what I had been looking for. Not only does he outline the reasons why our brains can be our worst enemies standing in the way of us reaching our mountaintops, but he describes the inner workings of the specific areas of the brain responsible for our many acts of sabotage.

The chapter that spoke to me the most was the one titled Fear of Success. I felt as if he had written it with me in mind! Over the last year or so (my whole life, maybe), I had wrestled with each of the reasons Dr. Pillay outlined for why so many of us fear success. They included:

* Fear of loneliness of success
* Fear of the disorientation of success
* Fear of the responsibility of success
* Fear of the unknown
* Fear of being unable to maintain the success
* Fear of losing our drive
* Fear of becoming prey
* Fear of losing our identity

I can put a checkmark after each and every one of those reasons. How about you?

Last Friday, I had the privilege of interviewing Dr. Pillay on UW Radio. It was one of my favorite shows of all time. If you missed it, click HERE.

Check out the video below. It’s sure to resonate with a lot of people.

I encourage you to order Life Unlocked to learn the ways in which you can overcome your fears and live the life you were meant to live.

The Palm Oil Miracle

by Sean Croxton & Bruce Fife ND

Wowsers!

Dr. Bruce Fife dropped some monster truth bombs on UW Radio this week, exploding some long-held myths surrounding palm oil.

I’m honestly not sure which oil I love more now, coconut or palm. Maybe, I can just love them both the same.

Like coconut oil, palm oil is a healthy saturated fat that resists oxidization when heated. It also boosts the immune system, reduces the risk of cancer, and assists with blood sugar control.

What sets palm oil apart from coconut oil is the wide variety of nutrients it contains, including:

* vitamin E
* beta-carotene
* coenzyme Q10
* squalene
* vitamin K
* sterols

Click HERE to listen to the replay and learn all about it! Dr. Fife and I discuss:

* How the research on the link between saturated fat and heart disease was actually conducted on trans fats
* The BIG difference between vitamin E tocopherols and tocotrienols
* How the squalene in palm oil protects you from all forms of radiation
* How palm oil is far more eco-friendly than soy and corn oils
* Why palm oil is actually good for the heart, as it is loaded with coenzyme Q10
* How environmental rumors surrounding palm oil are untrue
* The difference between red and white palm oils
* Much MORE

Click the video below for a sneak peek! And don’t miss next Thursday’s episode of UW Radio with Dr. Kaayla T. Daniel. We’ll be discussing Sex and the Soybean. Sounds like fun!
