Guest: Dr. Jade Teta, ND
It’s like your metabolism has a mind of its own.
You eat less. It burns less.
You lose ten pounds. It gains eleven back.
It’s just not fair.
The logical solution is to eat even less and exercise even more. But that won’t fix it. Never has, never will.
Nor will it fix those “stubborn problem areas” that don’t seem to budge. Lower body fat and arm jiggle, for women. Love handles and belly/chest fat in men.
Like Father Time, your metabolism never loses. Unless…
In today’s episode of Underground Wellness Radio, our friend Dr. Jade Teta, co-author of Lose Weight Here, reveals how you can work WITH your metabolism to lose weight permanently and target those problem areas.
Here’s what you’ll learn:
* Why alternating between periods of “eating less, exercising less” and “eating more, exercising more” sidesteps the starvation signals that slow down your metabolism.
* Beta receptors and alpha receptors. The science behind stubborn fat cells. (And what to do about them!)
* The male 6-pack abs formula: (P + V) x (Sl + IE)
* Specific supplements for targeting lower-body fat in women.

Shut the duck up.
You know, that duck in your head that quacks pretty much all day long, telling you how much you suck and just how worthless you are.
We’re all ducked. Some of us have ducks that are louder than others, going out of their way to really duck with us.
The duck is part of the human machinery. You can’t dodge it. You can’t duck it. But you can turn the ducking volume down on it.
I should know. My duck used to quack at full blast. From the moment I woke up until I fell asleep, those negative, self-defeating thoughts raced through my mind. In fact, sleep seemed to be my only reprieve for the quacking. That is, when my duck wasn’t keeping me up all hours of the night.
Last night’s UW Radio show with T.S. Wiley, author of Lights Out, was definitely a classic.
We had way more live listeners than any other recent show. The switchboard was lit up like a Paul Chek show! Thank you for calling in with questions. We’ll definitely have to have her back on soon for an “Ask T.S.” show.

I feel like we only got to cover the basics. The second half of her book shows us how our poor sleep habits cause heart disease, cancer, and hypertension. For example, the hormones melatonin and prolactin (we make them when we sleep) are powerful antioxidants and immune modulators that protect us from cancer and oxidative stress. Also, when prolactin spills over into daytime, we become autoimmune (and fat). According to gluten expert Dr. Thomas O’Bryan, autoimmunity will be the number one cause of morbidity and mortality by this time next year. I wonder how much of that has to do with us staying up past our bedtimes.
We look high and low for solutions to our health and fitness challenges. Most of the time, we come up empty. For many of us, the solution may be under the covers in a pitch black room when the sun goes down.
Try it and see what happens.
What’s your WHY?
When we have a big enough reason, we will do ANYTHING to achieve our objectives. In the world of health, fitness, and weight loss, that can literally mean anything. Just a few days ago, a link was tweeted to me regarding a soap that helps with weight loss! Drop pounds in the shower!
We weren’t born yesterday. We know darn well that a belt that sends an electric charge through our abs won’t help us lose weight. We know that cabbage soup won’t keep the pounds off forever. Let’s just get real with ourselves.
