I’m Retiring. Four Episodes Left!

Retirement Ahead - Road Warning Sign

It’s time for a change, friends.

It seems like it was just yesterday when I went live on the air for the first episode of Underground Wellness Radio.

The date was November 11th, 2008 and my guest was Reed Davis, founder of Functional Diagnostic Nutrition.

There I was, in my shoebox of a studio apartment doing my end of the broadcast from a cordless phone. No fancy equipment. No idea what I was doing. And barely anyone listened.

But I knew there was something to this whole podcasting thing, so I kept showing up. Each week the listenership grew larger and larger, eventually blossoming into a community of Undergrounders across the globe.

And here we are now, almost seven years and 346 episodes later, with one of the most popular health podcasts on the planet. Something that I’m certainly proud of and grateful for.

But something feels off…

For the past year or so, I’ve felt stuck. I mean, while health will always be my first love, it’s not what I’m all about. It’s not all that I have to offer.

And that gnawing feeling … you know, the one you feel when you know you’re not doing exactly what you want to do …. has been eating me up inside.

It’s well past time to make it stop.

My mantra in life — the one that I preach to anyone who will listen — is to DO WHAT YOU LOVE. Honestly, I’m not sure if I’ve been fully practicing what I preach.

Do you know what I love?

I love interviewing people. To me, there’s not much better than researching a guest’s work inside and out and helping them shine brightly on the podcast. I can’t even explain what that feels like.

After 7 years of developing a pretty decent skill of interviewing health experts, the natural progression and curiosity is to challenge myself and put my skills to use in other ways.

I want to inspire people to be more than just healthy.

I want to connect my listeners with experts who can provide the tools for living amazingly incredible lives.

I want to interview personal development authors, successful entrepreneurs, relationship experts, writers, celebrities, people with inspiring stories.

To be totally real with you, I want to do what Oprah does. But with my own style and flavor.

The people I dream about interviewing and the topics I’ve been longing to cover don’t exactly fit on a podcast called Underground Wellness, a title that I came up with way back in 2007 when my head was in a completely different place.

So after mulling it over for about a year, I’ve decided to bring Underground Wellness Radio to an end and create something new.

Don’t worry, I’m not riding off into the sunset never to be seen or heard from again. No way. You’ll probably just find me in the Self-Help category on iTunes, with a new podcast to be officially announced in January, and on the seancroxton.com website that’s been collecting dust over the past few years.

With a renewed enthusiasm. And without that gnawing feeling.

I’ll still cover health topics here and there, and the Second Opinion Series will go on. But the focus of the new podcast will be living your best life, what each one of us deserves.

The final episode of Underground Wellness Radio will be November 11th, seven years to the day Reed Davis and I kicked this thing off.

Reed was my first guest and will also be my last. Truly full circle.

The archived episodes will remain available on iTunes, BlogTalk Radio, and the UW website forever and ever.

I appreciate your support more than you’ll ever know. It’s been a good ride.

I hope you stick with me through our next adventure. The email newsletter will continue to land in your inbox. I think you’ll like where we’re headed.

With that said, the show goes on. We’ve got a big event relaunching this Sunday morning. If you haven’t registered for The Digestion Sessions, click the link below and get signed up. All 25 sessions are back and 100% FREE to view from November 1st thru 8th!

See you Friday with a “retro” episode with Dr. Liz Lipski, author of Digestive Wellness!
