Paleo Summit News: Day 6 – Paul Chek, Paleo for Vegetarians, and Poop!

March 2nd, 2012

by Sean Croxton

Yo! What’s Up, Y’all!

Paul Chek. Paul Chek. Paul Chek.

Do I really need to say anything else?

That’s right, our most popular UW Radio guest rocks the Room 1 stage today, as he tackles a range of topics including the failures of our educational system, why we must regain and follow our instincts, and the deification of doctors, scientists, and supposed health gurus.

I predict that most of you will want to watch this one twice!

Attend Paul’s presentation HERE.

Over in Room 2, Dallas & Melissa Hartwig of Whole 9 Life cover how vegans and vegetarians can integrate
Paleo principles into their diets and lifestyles.

No, they won’t try to convince vegans/vegetarians to eat meat!

Lots of great info in this one on sustainable eating, supplementation, and the proper preparation of grains
and legumes.

Attend the Hartwig’s presentation HERE.

And, of course, we can’t go a whole week without talking about poop!

In Room 3, Dr. Allison Siebecker teaches us how to troubleshoot common digestive complaints that may occur when switching to a Paleo diet. This one is awesome!

Attend Dr. Siebecker’s presentation HERE.

Coincidentally, two of today’s presenters — Paul Chek and The Hartwigs — were kind enough to contribute their ebooks as bonus gifts when you order the Paleo Summit Upgrade Package.

The Upgrade Package is LOADED. And it’s only $67 during the week of the summit!

Take advantage of this limited time offer and bring the summit home with you!

I’ll be lurking around the comment sections all day.

Paleo Summit News: Day 5 – The Truth about The China Study…and Cholesterol Scores

March 1st, 2012

by Sean Croxton

I officially declare this day Truth Bombing Day at the UW Paleo Summit.

Why?

Because today’s presenters are about to explode a few of the most widely held myths in the health game.

First up, in Room 1 Denise Minger drops science on how the claims regarding the superiority of the vegan/vegetarian diet are in fact…unscientific.

China Study thumpers beware! Denise pokes some gaping holes in T. Colin Campbell’s work.

I can’t wait to read the comments for this one.

Attend Denise’s presentation HERE!

In Room 2, my main man Chris Kresser gives us an update on cholesterol, outlining how the cholesterol proponents as well as its skeptics are in fact both right. This presentation is sure to make you think twice about the accuracy of your latest cholesterol test scores.

I suggest you send the link to your doc some time today and beg him/her to watch it.

Attend Chris’s presentation HERE!

In Room 3, my mentor Mr. Reed Davis discusses how the stressors of Paleolithic living compare to those of modern times in terms of their impact on the hormonal, digestive, and detoxification system. He’ll also introduce you to Otzi the Iceman!

Attend Reed’s presentation HERE!

Truth Bombs will be raining down ALL DAY at the UW Paleo Summit!!!

Don’t forget, when you upgrade your summit experience, you get instant access to all 23 video/audio presentations, transcripts, and bonus ebooks and videos by our presenters.

Click HERE to learn more about the Summit Upgrade Package and our special event-week pricing.

I’ll be bouncing around the rooms today giving away FREE stuff and running trivia contests.

Paleo Summit News: Day 3 – Evolutionary Evidence, Gluten Sensitivity, & Debunking the Paleo Diet!

February 28th, 2012

by Sean Croxton

This very well may be my favorite day of the summit.

Why?

Because I love Paul Jaminet, am totally fascinated with how gluten can affect more than just your gut, and because I didn’t want to make this summit a total Paleo Love Fest.

Disagreement can be a good thing. It’s how we learn from each other.

In Room 3, Matt Stone presents on why he thinks the Paleo Diet is a giant FAIL for a lot of people. According to Matt, Paleo is a short-term fix that may lead to adrenal problems, lowered metabolism, reduced libido, anxiety, and more.

Can Matt sway your opinion of Paleo? View his presentation RIGHT HERE!

Room 2 is where you’ll find my own personal favorite summit presentation by Dr. Tom O’Bryan.

The most basic Paleo recommendation is to avoid gluten. However, there are a lot of people who have gluten sensitivity with no digestive symptoms at all! Dr. O’Bryan connects the dots linking gluten consumption, autoimmune disease, muscle pain, and bone loss. This one is sure to blow your mind!

View Dr. O’Bryan’s presentation HERE!

In Room 1, Paul Jaminet outlines his 5 lines of evolutionary evidence for the optimal human diet. Paul’s evidence includes:

* The diet of Paleolithic humans as well as more recent hunter-gatherers
* The diet of mammals
* The composition of human breast milk
* The composition of the human body
* The food reward sytem

Paul is mad smart!! Be sure to take notes.

Watch Paul’s presentation HERE!

And like I said, disagreement can be a good thing. Tomorrow, Nora Gedgaudas cross-examines Paul’s evolutionary evidence, sharing what she agrees and disagrees with.

This Paleo Summit is getting interesting!

Hope you guys are loving it as much as I am.

New Stuff!

As promised, we have updated the presentation rooms with Facebook comments. Look out for a new regular comment system that gives you the ability to reply to other posts. Should be up in a few hours.

Missed a Few Presentations?

We got you covered. Tomorrow at midnight, the Summit Upgrade Package will be made available for purchase. That’s all 23 videos, audio files, and transcripts, along with bonus ebooks by Paul Chek, The Whole 9, Diane Sanfilippo, and the Undergrounders.

I’m out!

Paleo Summit News: Day Two – Leptin Reset, The Paleo Fam, and MovNat!

February 27th, 2012

by Sean Croxton

I took it easy on you guys yesterday.

Mark and Diane’s outstanding presentations gave you some practical Paleo information that you can immediately put to use in your daily life.

I think it’s time to turn up the nerd factor a bit.

You see, I didn’t want to overwhelm you guys with a ton of science on Day One. Over the next 7 days, you’ll be getting a ton of Paleo geek-talk from presenters like Mat Lalonde, Ph.D, Paul Jaminet, Ph.D, Nora Gedgaudas, Chris Kresser, Dr. Thomas O’Bryan, and Denise Minger.

Today I suggest you break out your thinking cap, as you sit in for Dr. Jack Kruse’s Room 1 presentation entitled Leptin Circadian Cycles.

Dr. Kruse — a neurosurgeon who lost 77 pounds in 3 months — drops mad truth bombs on topics including:

* The role of inflammation in leptin resistance.

* Why obesity is not a disease but a symptom of physiological dysfunction often rooted in the gut.

* How video games contribute to childhood obesity. It’s not what you think!

* How Michael Phelps can get away with eating 18,000 calories a day.

* How the battle between our neolithic brains and our Paleolithic genes is a primary cause of obesity and disease.

Guaranteed mind-blower going on in Room 1, for sure!

Watch Dr. Kruse’s presentation HERE.

Over in Room 2, our favorite Paleo Mom, Sarah Fragoso, teaches us how to transition our families to the Paleo lifestyle. Sarah covers:

* Why it’s important to include children in living Paleo.

* Having the proper expectations for the transition.

* Whether kids should eat what their parents eat.

* How to make Paleo fun for the kids.

Sarah’s presentation is sure to have a ton of useful information for the Moms and Dads out there wondering how to make Paleo work at home.

Watch Paleo, Kids, and the Family HERE!

Last but certainly not least is MovNat founder Erwan Le Corre.

I’ll be honest. Sometimes I find myself at the gym bored out of my mind! I’m sure you know the feeling.

In his MovNat: Exploring Your True Nature presentation, Erwan covers how and why we need to get back to natural and instinctual movements to achieve optimal fitness. This talk will make you want to go outside and do pull-ups on a tree branch, or bang out some squats while hugging a boulder!

Watch Erwan’s presentation HERE!

Oh! Be on the lookout for a new Facebook-friendly comment stream some time today.

And come ready for a bit of Day 3 controversy tomorrow.

This summit is just getting started, my friends.

Out.

Paleo Summit News: Day One with Mark Sisson & Diane Sanfilippo!

February 26th, 2012

by Sean Croxton

The Paleo Summit is officially underway!

I’m pretty pumped about sharing all 23 of these outstanding presentations with you over the next 8 days.

Today’s presentations are by Primal Blueprint author Mark Sisson and author of the soon-to-be-released book, Practical Paleo, Diane Sanfilippo.

I purposely had Mark and Diane lead off the summit, because in order to follow the Paleo lifestyle, you have to know what exactly to eat and also have a solid understanding of proper implementation while having the right expectations.

In his presentation entitled Ancestral Living Defined, Mark lays the foundation for what foods are allowed — and not allowed — and why. He also tackles common Paleo questions like:

* Is dairy considered Paleo?
* Did hunter-gatherers avoid saturated fats?
* How much fruit is too much?

You may watch Mark’s presentation by CLICKING HERE!

In Diane’s presentation, Practical Paleo Implementation, she covers the nuts and bolts of how to actually DO the diet. Her discussion is full of useful information regarding how long it takes for Paleo eating to become second nature, how to deal with the haters, overcoming common obstacles, and how to dine out the Paleo way.

You may watch Diane’s presentation by CLICKING HERE!

We’ve got SEVEN more days of these presentations. Tune in tomorrow for presentations by Dr. Jack Kruse, Sarah Fragoso, and Erwan Le Corre.

Technical Issues

We had issues with the video player during the first 7-8 hours of launch. This has now been fixed, as the videos have been re-posted in YouTube format, which allows you to watch them on your iPad and smart phones.

The comment section is admittedly horrible. Some time today, we will be installing a comment app that allows for Facebook comments and does not refresh the page when comments are submitted.

Due to these technical challenges, I will leave today’s presentations up for an additional 12 hours (until noon PST Monday) before removing them from the site.

What if You Miss a Presentation?

Later on this week, we will make the entire set of summit video presentations, audio files, transcripts, and bonus ebooks and videos available at a very affordable price. Be on the lookout!

Enjoy Day One of the Summit!

The Paleo Summit is HERE!

February 13th, 2012

by Sean Croxton

I live for days like today.

As you may recall, a few weeks after I launched my e-book The Dark Side of Fat Loss, I blogged about how I had found myself at an impasse wondering what my next move would be.

Soon after that post, I spent a weekend hanging out with my friend Kevin Gianni, who has hosted several very successful online summits, including The Great Health Debate and The World Cancer Summit.

It was on that weekend that I decided to try my hand at hosting a summit of my own. I ran a few topics by Kevin, and as soon as I said “Paleo” he said “yeah, that’s the one”.

At that very moment, I went to work on the Paleo Summit.

Kevin and I were attending a conference called Superhero You, hosted by memory expert Jim Kwik. As soon as I walked back into the event room, I pulled out my notebook and started writing down the names of the Paleo/health experts I wanted to be a part of the event.

I wrote down the topics.

I nailed down a launch date.

Well, I missed my launch date by a week, but it’s okay. We need to be flexible with our goals.

Everything else I wrote down happened…and then some.

This morning, the event that began with a thought — an idea — went into pre-launch with the 8-day Paleo Summit event kicking off on Sunday, February 26th.

Making this idea a reality required a ton of hard work on the part of me and my team, but it was well worth it. And soon I will be sharing the fruits of our labor, including presentations from –

* Mark Sisson
* Dr. Jack Kruse
* Jimmy Moore
* Dr. Cate Shanahan
* Denise Minger
* Chris Kresser
* Mat Lalonde
* Diane Sanfillipo
* Sarah Fragoso
* Dr. Thomas O’Bryan
* So many more!!!

Recording with these health and wellness all-stars made me realize that there are people out there who are way smarter than me! :) The Paleo Summit presenters are some of the most brilliant people I have had the pleasure of speaking with. They certainly motivated me to step my game up a few notches.

You can see the full schedule and get registered to receive FREE videos interviews with Gary Taubes and Mark Sisson by CLICKING HERE!

When you register, you’ll also receive a handful of Paleo Summit preview videos.

No, these aren’t just audio files you’ll get access to during the summit. Allyson the Assistant and I have been busting our tails making the TWENTY-THREE audio recordings into Powerpoint-like video slideshow presentations!

We’re taking the online summit game to a whole new level.

I promise, you guys are gonna flip out when you see and hear this!

And best of all, it’s FREE!

Like my uncle says, “you can’t beat FREE”.

Thanks so much for your patience and support. For the past 6-8 weeks I have taken time away from blogging and posting YouTube videos in order to make this summit happen.

Now that we’ve launched, the blog and YouTube channel are now BACK.

Be sure to check back for new posts. I’ve been reading a ton and have a lot to say!

Out.
