How to Make Flourless Chocolate Cake!

by Sean Croxton & Scott Kustes

I have a weakness.

And it goes by the name of chocolate!

Last month (I’m way behind), my main man Scott Kustes of Naked Food Cooking stopped by the UW Kitchen to show us how we can satisfy our chocolate cravings semi-healthy style with this flourless chocolate cake.

To be totally honest, I thought I was gonna hate this one since it had coffee in it. Coffee disgusts me. Yuck!

But I totally dug it!

It’s reeeeally simple with just a handful of ingredients. And it’s quite tasty, especially the ganache!

Scott put together the directions for you. Here they go!

Try it out and let us know how it turned out.

Stay tuned. Scott and I also made some delicious Pork Belly with Pineapple Salsa. I’ll get it edited and uploaded some time next week.

Almost Done!!

Back to our regularly scheduled program.

Feels kinda weird sitting down and writing a blog. Kinda nostalgic.

But I can get used to this again!

I tell ya, writing a book is one of the most humbling and never ending things ever. Didn’t I say I wanted to be done and have it out by July 1st? Didn’t happen. In fact, we’re scrambling to meet our September 1st launch date. Things are about to get really interesting! ๐Ÿ™‚

Despite my silence on this blog and on YouTube, I have to thank you for hanging in there with me. Your support on Facebook and Twitter has been tremendous. Very cool of you.

If you haven’t heard already, you can get instant access to the introductory chapter of The Dark Side of Fat Loss at www.thedarksideoffatloss.com.

The reviews have been fantastic! Thanks for your emails, FB posts, and tweets.

Can’t wait to launch. As always, hard work will pay off.

About to upload a cooking video I shot a month ago with Scott Kustes of Naked Food Cooking. If you like chocolate cake, you’ll LOVE this recipe. Super easy. Be on the lookout!

Out!

Are Food Sensitivies Giving You Belly Fat?

by Sean Croxton

It’s Friday! Since I’ve been busy moving out of my place, we didn’t have a chance to shoot a Friday Fun Day video, BUT I’ve got a humongous truth bomb for you straight from the mouth of Paul Chek!

In the video below, Paul discusses how food sensitivities and intolerances may be contributing to unwanted belly fat.

Food sensitivities are a very stressful to your body. When you consume foods that are firing up your immune system, you get inflammation.

Inflammation begets the release of cortisol (your primary stress hormones) from your adrenal glands.

Cortisol does a couple of things. First off, since your body is under stress it holds onto water. This will give your gut that bloated, puffy look. Second, cortisol increases blood sugar. When blood sugar rises, your pancreas produces insulin. Over time, this may lead to insulin resistance (or make it worse if you already have it). When insulin levels are high, it is impossible to burn body fat!

It’s not all about carbohydrates! There are a myriad of factors that may be contributing to your weight gain and belly fat, including poor sleep, stress, toxicity, and digestive dysfunction.

In my experience, most clients have some kind of gut dysfunction, whether it be parasites, fungal/bacterial overgrowth, or leaky gut. When I run food sensitivity tests, clients are typically sensitive to most of the foods they consume. And you can be sensitive to ANYTHING!

If you’ve already tried everything under the sun to get rid of your belly fat, getting tested for food sensitivities may be a great idea for you.

Click HERE for more info on the LEAP MRT!

My usual consulting rate for this test is $125 per hour. Until next Wednesday, July 13, I offer it to you for just $75 plus $5.50 for shipping. That’s $50 off!

Lab fees are paid separately. Click HERE for details.

Hope your weekend is better than mine! Not looking forward to unpacking all of these boxes. ๐Ÿ™

MORE Grow Your Own!

by Sean Croxton & Kirk Hensler

The Underground Wellness Garden is soaking up these hot San Diego sun rays. And in a few weeks, we’ll be able to harvest our spinach, squash, and tomatoes. Super jazzed about growing (and eating) my own food!

I’m a little behind with bringing you the latest installments of our Grow Your Own series. So, below you will find episodes 2 through 4.

In Episode 2, Kirk Hensler of Hale Holistic and I show you how to put together you own grow box. Pretty easy peezy!

In Episode 3, Kirk shows us how to plant our starters.

And in the fourth episode, we sow our seeds.

Be on the lookout for the fifth installment later this week. Watering plants is pretty easy, BUT you want to be sure that you’re not feeding your plants toxic water. We’ll give you the scoop!

I’ll be headed back to Hale on Friday. Our seeds are sprouting. My babies are here!!!

Thanks for tuning in!
